Finlandia University now smoke-free
Finlandia University in Hancock has gone smoke-free and tobacco-free, effective today.
Finlandia president Philip Johnson says the policy applies to all indoor and outdoor university areas, activities and property. It doesn’t apply to tobacco use in personal vehicles.
He says students and employees urged the university to adopt a smoke-free and tobacco-free policy, and it did so in the fall of 2011. The campus has been preparing for the change ever since.
Johnson says healthy living resources and incentives will be available to students and employees who want to quit smoking.
