Man shoots neighbor’s dog
A Gwinn man was arrested for shooting a neighbor’s dog in Forsyth Township. The Forsyth Township Police Department got the call on Saturday at 7 p.m. about a dog on the 100 block of Johnson Lake Road that had been shot several times.
Following an investigation, a warrant was issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for 65-year-old Michael Baumann.
Baumann was arrested on Tuesday. He is facing one count of torturing or killing an animal, which is a felony. He is also facing one count of reckless use of a firearm, which is a misdemeanor.
Baumann is scheduled to be arraigned in Marquette County District Court on Monday, July 29th. He is currently free on a $1,500 bond. The dog was not killed in the incident.
