Cedarville man sentenced on drug charge
A Cedarville man will spend a year in jail on a drug charge.
Twenty-four-year-old Thomas Dowdell has received a delay of sentence in Mackinac County Circuit Court.
If he completes the jail term without incident, the case will be dismissed.
Dowdell pleaded guilty in May to delivery or manufacture of marijuana.
The Straits Area Narcotics Team bought marijuana at his home in February.
Before they could carry out their search warrant, Dowdell was pulled over for a traffic stop in Sault Ste. Marie.
He was arrested during that stop, and the SANE drug team then obtained a second warrant.
Between the two separate searches, officers found long guns, cash, morphine and other prescription drugs.
