Food, fun, and crafts at Festival of Treasures
Downtown Ishpeming was packed with vendors for the city’s annual Festival of Treasures celebration Wednesday afternoon.
Food, crafts, and children’s activities lined Main Street, and gave people a chance to browse at antiques and other vendors. A live band provided entertainment for the shoppers.
“It’s fun, everyone brings their family down, we have music here,” Jim Mager, owner of Jimmy’s Krack Korn said. “There’s a lot going on down here. It’s just a fun, family atmosphere.”
Festival of Treasures has been a part of Ishpeming for many years. People keep coming back year after year because it is such a community–oriented festival.
“Ishpeming’s really hometown, and always been and always will be,” Mager said. “And it’s little communities like this that bring everybody together. It’s great, I’m glad to be a part of it.”
Festival of Treasures is the start of Ishpeming’s Fourth of July Celebration. After the festival, shoppers can enjoy a concert starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Ish Park.
