Woman arrested after stabbing boyfriend
One woman is in jail after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in West Branch Township Saturday morning.
Troopers from the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police say the incident happened around 11:15 Saturday morning, after a man had called Marquette County Central Dispatch saying he had been stabbed with a knife.
Troopers say when they arrived to the residence, they learned the couple had been arguing, and the woman had grabbed a knife and stabbed her boyfriend.
The man was transported to Marquette General Hospital for the treatment of his injuries and was later released.
The woman is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail, pending review of charges by the Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney.
Names and charges will be released after the suspect’s arraignment in Marquette County District Court.
The Forsyth Township Police Department and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
