Snyder’s mobile office visiting U.P.

Governor Rick Snyder’s Office of Constituent Services is in the U.P. this week.

The mobile office was in Marquette County today.

Representatives spoke with several residents, answering questions and providing information related to government issues that are currently affecting Michigan.

The staff also took suggestions from area residents on how to improve certain government-related situations.

“It’s really all about customer service,” constituent relations representative Ali Emamdjomeh said. “The governor is very hands-on, customer-service-driven with state government, and a result of that is being able to make his office more accessible to the people of Michigan. If there’s anything they want to share, or if they have any questions for us, that’s what we’re here for.”

The mobile office will stop in 19 Upper Peninsula communities over the next week, and it’ll visit 70 cities across Michigan during the summer.

“We make ourselves available for about two hours at a time, and people just sort of come in and share their personal story of how state government can be helping them better,” Emamdjomeh said. “We’re taking down their thoughts and concerns and making sure to relay them to the governor, and if there’s something we can help with within state government, if they’re having an issue, we can try to get them some assistance as well through our office.”
