Pop-Up shop highlights vintage clothes
Anyone looking for vintage fashions had plenty of options in Marquette Wednesday night.
Two Marquette–area online vintage clothiers, Dharma Threads Vintage and Vere de Vere held a Vintage Pop-Up Shop at the Ore Dock Brewery.
The Pop–Up Shop gave people a chance to browse through clothing, shoes and accessories.
“This is not just women’s, we have a lot of shirts and coats (for men) and stuff like that,” Dharma Threads Vintage owner Jessica Wolf said. “And there’s vintage enthusiasts from all over that I’ve sort of tried to let know what was going on, because we’re not alone. There’s a lot of people that really like this stuff.”
The event featured live music, and tips on how to wear vintage styles.
There were also eco-friendly designs from Lanni Lantto, a Marquette resident who re-purposes old clothing.
“She (Lantto) is extremely talented,” Wolf said. “She takes old pieces and redesigns them into new works of art. They’re amazing and they’re incredible.”
Wolf said she and Hilary Bloch, owner of Vere de Vere, are hoping to team up again and host more Pop–Up Shop events throughout the Upper Peninsula a few times a year.
