Warrior Relief Walk
Marquette kicked off it’s Memorial Day festivities with the third annual Warrior Relief Walk this morning.
The three mile walk began and ended at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. Participants also held a moment of silence at the midway point of the walk to honor soldiers who have fallen while serving our country.
The Warrior Relief Fund was created with a mission to provide immediate assistance to families during any major tragedy that they endure due to a military incident. The fund also assists veterans when they return home with an injury, or if they undergo any adjustment issues post deployment.
The relief walk is one of two events that raises money for the fund throughout the year. The other is a Warrior Relief fund golf outing in September.
