UPAWS adoption special Friday
If you’re looking to adopt a pet, a special program at the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter and mBank might be able to help.
On friday, UPAWS and mBank will be hosting the second annual Pet Adopt-A-Thon at the mBank in marquette.
The fun-filled event will feature free snacks and a chance to meet several cats and dogs that are available for adoption.
“mBank and UPAWS are putting their paws together to offer 75% off adoptions,” UPAWS manager Lareina Van Strein said. “We’re going to have animals at mBank, and all the animals in foster care and at PetSmart and at UPAWS will be included in that 75% off adoption.”
Adoption includes spaying and neutering, initial vaccines and a rabies immunization.
Microchipping, a month of free pet insurance and a Dr. Tim’s pet food discount coupon are also included.
“These pets were in a family and were part of somebody’s life, and now they’re just searching for that again, so we have all types of personalities. If you’re an energetic person, we have an energetic dog. If you are looking for a lap cat, we have that here as well. So, all these animals are super-super-wonderful, we love them all, and we think you will, too.”
