Alger Co. break-in suspects arraigned
The names of the two Alger County teenagers arrested in an attempted break-in over the weekend have been released.
They are 18-year-old Ruben Sifuentes of Munising and 17-year-old Brandon Monroe of Shingleton.
They’ve both been arraigned in 93rd District Court, and their preliminary exam is scheduled for next Tuesday, May 7th.
Sifuentes and Monroe are charged with breaking and entering.
They’re both being held in the Alger County Jail.
The two were arrested after an attempted break-in at the Oasis gas station in Shingleton Sunday afternoon.
Michigan State Police from the Munising Detachment say the owner of the business found the suspects at the cash register.
Police say the owner kicked one of the suspects to the floor and threatened both of them with an assault rifle, ordering them to leave.
They did leave, but the owner recognized one of the burglars and police say they were able to identify the other one.
