U.P. State Fair announces schedule
The Upper Peninsula State Fair will return in August for its 86th annual edition.
This will also be its fourth year since the state of Michigan stopped supporting it financially.
This year’s State Fair runs from August 12th through the 18th, and the Delta County Commerce Center announced this year’s schedule this afternoon.
It includes a hot tub promotion and live wrestling to go along with the exhibits, midway rides and music.
“There will be absolutely something for everyone,” Delta County Chamber of Commerce director Vickie Micheau said. “The only thing that we need is for Mother Nature to cooperate so we have blue, sunny skies, moderate temperatures and no rain during the fair.”
Country singer Craig Morgan will play at the fair on Wednesday.
The rock bands Jackyl and Great White are on the bill for Thursday, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is the headline attraction on Friday.
Adult tickets will cost $8, like they have for the last several years.
