Three car accident on US-41 update
At around 9:30 this morning, three cars collided in Marquette Township at the intersection of US-41 West and County Road HQ. Marquette County Sheriff Deputies responded to the crash. Deputies said a 2001 Mercury driven by 56-year-old Sandra Lee Borden of Bark River was traveling west on US-41 and failed to stop for a red light. As a result, she hit a 1997 GMC Jimmy driven by 50-year-old Jeffry Lee Mauldin of Negaunee, who was traveling north from Wal-Mart onto County Road HQ. Borden’s vehicle ricocheted off Mauldin’s vehicle before hitting a 1998 Jeep driven by 52-year-old Michelle Lynn Signs of Marquette.
Minor injuries were reported by Borden and her daughter. Both were transported to Marquette General Hospital by Marquette General EMS. Borden was cited for Disregarding a Stop and Go light.
Marquette City Police and Marquette Township Fire helped assist the other units at the scene.
