Ishpeming murder trial postponed
The murder trial for an Ishpeming man has been postponed.
Jack Carpenter was scheduled to have a Circuit Court arraignment Friday on a charge of open murder.
He has waived his right to an arraignment, so he does not need to appear.
Carpenter has a final pre-trial conference scheduled for August 21st, and his jury trial is scheduled for September 24th.
He’s being held in the Marquette County Jail without bond.
Carpenter is accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old David Meyer, Jr. of Ishpeming last June at 409 North Second Street.
Carpenter faces a life sentence if he’s convicted.
