Reviewing the Michigan economy
Jeff Guilfoyle, president of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, discussed trends and opportunities related to the state’s economy and fiscal year 2014 budget proposals at Northern Michigan University Thursday. His talk was part of the presidential symposium series that is free and open to the public.
Guilfoyle began his career at the CRC in 2009, having most recently directed the Office of Revenue and Tax Analysis (ORTA) in the Michigan Department of Treasury As ORTA director, his responsibilities include forecasting and tracking state tax receipts, estimating the impact of legislation on state tax revenues and providing economic research support to the State Treasurer.Guilfoyle previously directed the Economic and Revenue Forecasting Division and served as a tax analyst in the Department of Treasury.
The Citizens Research Council of Michigan is a privately funded, not-for-profit public affairs research organization. It lists its primary objective as providing factual, unbiased, independent information on significant issues concerning state and local government organization and finance.
