NMU indigenous foods cook-off
The NMU Center for Native American Studies and the Hospitality Management program are hosting their first-ever Indigenous Foods Cook-Off this Saturday at the Jacobetti Center complex.
NMU assistant professor of Native American studies Dr. Martin Reinhardt says participants in the Decolonizing Diet project will be teaming up with community members, family members and other volunteers to compete against one another.
The teams have to prepare an entrée, a side dish and a dessert from a mystery basket of indigenous food ingredients.
Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the Center for Native American Studies or by visiting in the center in Whitman Hall.
