Ontonagon Co. marijuana bust
Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post found what they say is a marijuana grow operation while serving warrants on two people for another offense.
They say it happened in the Bruce Crossing area shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A woman was arrested and told the police that a male suspect was not in the residence; Troopers heard a noise and found a man hiding in the attic.
The existing warrants against the two suspects were both for Malicious Destruction of Property, $1,000 More, but Less than $20,000.
Further investigation revealed a hidden room. The room contained equipment used to manufacture marijuana. Troopers then obtained a search warrant for the house, and there they located a marijuana growth operation.
Both suspects are lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail. Charges are pending against the suspects, and names are being withheld pending arraignment.
