‘Meow March’ benefits UPAWS
The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is hosting a fundraising event for the month of March.
It’s called the ‘Meow March’, a virtual cat walk. People create a website, post pictures or videos of their cats and virtually march with their cats to destinations. They raise funds by getting donations.
All money raised goes to the shelter.
UPAWS Manager Larenia Van Strein said March is usually a slow month for donations, so they created with the fundraiser to help with costs.
The virtual cat walks have already raised $750, almost half of UPAWS’ $2,000 goal.
The ‘Meow March’ runs through the end of the month. For more information on the ‘Meow March’ or to donate to UPAWS, visit their website, www.upaws.org.
