Cedarville man arrested after traffic stop

A 24-year-old Cedarville man has been arrested after a traffic stop in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday, involving narcotics and cash.

The Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (S.A.N.E) executed a search warrant for the suspect’s residence in Cedarville Thursday afternoon.  S.A.N.E obtained the warrant after purchasing marijuana from a suspect at the home earlier.  Marijuana, cash, and long guns were taken from the home.

The traffic stop in Sault Ste. Marie led to a second search warrant of the suspect’s home, which was executed Thursday night.  S.A.N.E detectives took narcotics, Morphine, and cash from the home.

The incident is still under investigation, and arrest warrants will be sought.

S.A.N.E was assisted by the Mackinac County Sheriff’s Department, the Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post canine handler, and the Sault Ste. Marie City Police Department.
