Active meth lab found in Chippewa Co.
Another meth lab has been found in the U.P. This time, it’s an active lab.
According to Sault Ste. Marie police officers, they were assisting the Family Independent Agency when they discovered an active meth lab in a basement of a house. The house is located on the 2300 block of Andary Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie.
Officers secured the house and contacted the Straits Area Narcotic Enforcement team (S.A.N.E) to assist with the disposal of the lab. Three people were detained, and two were arrested. A man and woman are lodged in the Chippewa County Jail on charges of operating a meth lab.
A two-year-old at the home was taken into protective custody and placed with family members.
The incident is still under investigation.
