Snowfall making up for lost time
Winter is going strong here at the end of January, and, there’s plenty of new snowfall.
A lack of snow for much of the season was beginning to concern some people, and for a while that group included organizers of this past weekend’s Noquemanon Ski Marathon.
But National Weather Service meteorologist Megan Dodson says that with the most recent low pressure system that moved in, most areas of the U.P. have now almost caught up to the normal amount of snowfall for this point in the winter.
The National Weather Service is also forecasting freezing rain tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.
Even though it may be light freezing rain, they suggest using a little extra caution while driving over the next few days.
