Three car accident in Ironwood Twp.

A Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle was involved in a three car accident in Ironwood Twp. Thursday morning.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police-Wakefield Post say the accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Central Standard Time.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Bluff View Road and Cedar Lane.

David Sim, 26, of Ironwood, was traveling southbound on Cedar Lane when he was unable to stop his vehicle at the intersection.  He slid into a westbound vehicle driven by Susan Lynn Williams-Reil, 59, of Bessemer.  Her vehicle spun sideways into the path of an eastbound Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash.  Sim’s vehicle suffered moderate damage and was able to be driven from the scene.  Williams-Reil’s vehicle and the patrol car each had extensive damaged and were towed from the scene.

Sim was cited for Violation of Basic Law, causing an accident.
