Snowmobile collides with logging truck
One man is in the hospital after his snowmobile collided with a logging truck near Wakefield Thursday afternoon.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post, say Jeff Schuelke, 57, of Leganon, Wisconsin, was crossing M-28 east of Wakefield on his snowmobile when he failed to yield to a westbound logging truck.
Schuelke’s snowmobile ran into the wheels of the truck, and he was thrown from the machine. The loaded logging truck was driven by Chad Miskovich, 41, of Wakefield. Schuelke was transported to Aspirus Grand View Hospital with unknown injuries.
Schuelke was cited for Fail to Yield, causing an accident.
Beacon Ambulance, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division and the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
