Salvation Army Red Kettle Update
The Salvation Army could use some help as it enters the home stretch of the 2012 Red Kettle Campaign.
After today, only Friday and part of the day on Christmas Eve are still left.
Community donations have been pouring into the kettles for weeks now.
The Marquette Salvation Army is ahead of last year’s level, with more than $75,000 collected.
Capt. Joel Arthur says they’re serving about 700 families this holiday season through dinners, food vouchers, Christmas gifts or other forms of assistance.
And he says some of the recipients are people who’ve donated to the Salvation Army in the past.
All of the money raised in the Red Kettle Campaign stays in the community where it’s collected.
