Early morning house fire in Escanaba
Two adults and a pet dog in Escanaba escaped without injury this morning when their house caught fire.
Escanaba Public Safety says the fire at the house in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue was reported at 1:29 a.m.
According to police, the homeowner reported that a couch caught fire and the fire spread throughout the room.
It took about half an hour for the blaze to be brought under control.
The structure was saved, but sustained fire, smoke and water damage.
Public Safety was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Rampart EMS.
