Three injured in Ishpeming accident
A four-vehicle accident in Ishpeming late this afternoon sent three people to the hospital. It happened on U.S. 41 at the intersection of Lakeshore at 4:46 p.m.
Ishpeming Police say a 24-year-old woman from South Range was driving a 2000 Buick westbound on U.S. 41 and failed to stop for a red light. The woman’s car hit a 2000 Mazda driven by a 61-year-old Ishpeming man.
The force of the accident pushed the Buick into a 2006 Chevrolet Impala stopped at the intersection. The Impala then was pushed into a 2012 Dodge Avenger behind it. A 64-year-old Negaunne woman was behind the wheel of the Impala; a 44-year-old Ishpeming woman was driving the Avenger.
Three people were transported to Bell Hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Three of the four vehicles were towed from the scene.
Ishpeming Police were assisted at the scene by the Ishpeming Fire Department, Bell Hospital EMS and the Marquette County Rescue Unit.
