Room at the Inn Update
The homeless shelter program that serves the city of Marquette and the surrounding area is looking for a new facility.
Room at the Inn has a warming center where guests can gather on weekday mornings before heading out for the day.
It’s inside Faith in Christ Fellowship Church on West Ridge Street.
But the center is in need of a new home.
The church was sold recently, and the center will need to move in May.
Room at the Inn executive director Doug Russell says they’re looking at several locations in and near downtown Marquette into which the warming center may be able to move.
He says he’s sure it will continue after the move.
Room at the inn also wants people to know about its alternative gift–giving campaign, running through christmas.
Russell says if you know of someone who supports the program and its mission but may be difficult to shop for, you can make a donation to Room at the Inn in someone else’s name.
Room at the Inn is also looking for volunteers.
Its next volunteer training session is on Thursday, December 20th.
If you want to know more about that, or anything else regarding Room at the Inn, their website has plenty of additional information.
