Ishpeming Christmas Parade
It usually takes place on the day after Thanksgiving, but snowy weather postponed the Ishpeming Christmas parade to Sunday.
A good–sized crowd turned out to cheer as the Ishpeming Fire Department led the parade, and the cheers got even louder when the Ishpeming High School football team passed by.
The team’s Christmas came a little early as the holiday parade doubled as a bit of a homecoming parade for the Division 7 state football champs.
Christmas music played during the parade as floats cruised downtown through the snow.
After the parade, there was a tree lighting ceremony, and children waited in line to sit on Santa’s lap.
The Ishpeming Business Association hosts the event as a way to kick off the holiday season.
