Traffic crash closes roadway
An accident on slippery roads closed a Marquette County road for several hours and One driver was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
At approximately 7:10 a.m., Troopers from the Negaunee post of the Michigan State Police came across a property damage crash north of Grimes Road on M-35 in Negaunee Township.
The driver of a southbound passenger vehicle lost control on the icy roadway and struck a utility pole. The utility pole broke off and utility lines fell onto a portion of the roadway.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The driver was cited for Violation of Basic Speed Law. M-35 was closed between the intersection of M-35 and Grimes Road and M-35 and County Road 480 until the utility pole could be replaced.
