Gwinn Scouts Food Drive
With supplies running low at food pantries and food banks in the Upper Peninsula, a group of kids is helping out.
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from Gwinn will conduct a door–to–door food drive this Saturday.
It’s started with the distribution of empty grocery bags at homes.
The bags have some tips on what items are needed.
Troop 333 volunteer Jim Finkbeiner says all of the donated food will go to the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Gwinn.
Last year, the scouts collected more than 3,500 pounds of food.
If you’ve received a donation bag, the scouts ask that it be ready for pickup by 10 am Saturday.
