2012 Republican National Convention being planned
Lansing, Mich. – With the 2012 Republican National Convention quickly approaching, Great Lakes Convention, LLC (GLC) has announced the lineup of events for the Michigan delegation and convention attendees.
“The Michigan experience at the 2012 convention will be second to none,” said Great Lakes Convention Co-Chair James B. Nicholson. “Our high profile, quality events, will honor our convention delegation, our state’s outstanding Republican leadership and enhance Michigan’s profile during the convention – and, have some fun bringing a little Great Lakes State flavor to Tampa.”
GLC’s events – separate from the convention’s official schedule – kick-off on Saturday night, August 25 and continue through the convention’s final gavel Thursday, August 30, 2012. Each day during the convention, separate events will honor Michigan’s Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Senate Majority Leader, Speaker of the House, Supreme Court Justices, Republican Congressional Delegation, the 2012 Republican U.S. Senate Candidate, the Michigan Republican Party Chairman and of course, the National Convention Delegates and Alternates.
Additionally, on Monday, August 27 GLC is presenting a luncheon “Tribute to President Gerald Ford” hosted by Peter and Joan Secchia, and highlighted by a video honoring the late President featuring interviews with Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary Dr. Henry Kissinger, Secretary James Baker, Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, General Brent Scowcroft and Ambassador Peter Secchia.
