Stabenow Talks Agriculture
U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow held a round table discussion on the campus of Northern Michigan University this afternoon. The talk centered around agriculture in Michigan.
Dozens of farmers, agriculture–business owners and community leaders came together to discuss the importance of getting the new “Farm Bill” passed.
Along with the impact that the new bill would have across the state and the Upper Peninsula. Stabenow knows the importance of getting this bill passed, and what agriculture means to the country.
So far the bipartisan bill has passed through the Senate and is currently waiting to be passed in the House of Representatives.
If the bill is not passed by the time the old one expires the country would revert back to an outdated and expensive agriculture policy from the 1940’s.
