Change to Community Schools Program
Despite recent budget cuts within the Marquette Area Public School district the Community Schools Program has been retooled to better utilize its resources.
The revamped program is called the Community Education Program.
It has three primary components athletics, community enrichment, and academics.
MAPS Superintendent Deborah Veiht said “the community enrichment piece will continue to grow as the school develops stronger relationships with businesses and organizations in the community.”
The Community Schools Program was under just one umbrella.
The new program will now allows for expertise within each area to be centered around the three tiers athletics, enrichment, and academics.
