Shopko Tools for School
If you’ve been in a Shopko store recently, you may have noticed a large cardboard box just inside the front door.
It’s there for Shopko’s Tools for School campaign.
The company has worked with the Salvation Army since 2005 to help kids enter the school year with all the supplies they need.
Marquette Shopko store manager Pat Gigot says they’re taking donations of supplies in that cardboard box for kids right up through 12th grade.
The Shopko stores in Marquette, Escanaba, Houghton and Kingsford are part of the campaign.
Gigot says the collection boxes will be on the store floors until August 10th and the Salvation Army will distribute all the items on the 13th.
Shopko Hometown stores are not taking part this year, but the company is expanding Tools for School next year so that the Hometown stores will be involved.
