Custom U.P. table donated
State Sen. Tom Casperson (pictured left) accepted a custom-made curly maple table on behalf of 38th District residents that was donated to the district by, from left, Jim Nelson of Jim’s Custom Cabinets and Chris Wilcox and Dave Kinsella of the Appliance and Furniture Mart in Iron Mountain. Nelson hand-crafted the table out of maple supplied by Lake States Lumber, and Wilcox and Kinsella commissioned and helped pay for the wood.
“I am so proud to accept on behalf of the 38th District this beautiful and unique table that has been greeted by rave reviews by all who have already seen it,” said Casperson, R-Escanaba. “It is an amazing centerpiece for the office and for years and years to come will serve as a wonderful tribute to the character, craftsmanship and charity that make the Upper Peninsula truly special. I invite all district residents to stop in to their office, which is located in 705 of the Farnum Building, when they visit the Capitol and enjoy this remarkably and distinctively crafted treasure.”
