Copper Country Mall sold
A shopping center in Houghton County has a new owner.
There’s no sign saying “Under New Management” but the Copper Country Mall has a new owner.
CCM Capital Partners L.L.C., based in Chicago, purchased the troubled mall in Houghton County from Developers Diversified Realty on July 25th for an undisclosed amount.
After completing the deal to buy the mall property, CCM Capital Partners immediately deeded the adjacent Office Max to Marquette’s Veridea Group L.L.C.
DDR was the original owner of the mall since its construction in the early 1980s.
Over the last several years, the mall has become increasingly empty.
Now, Moyle Incorporated of Atlantic Mine will be taking on the role as the leasing manager.
And new businesses like the Pets & More Critter Store and Halloween Superstores hope to have some new neighbors soon.
One things these business owners have in common is that they hope new ownership means the mall may have a comeback.
