Traffic restrictions on M-77

The Michigan Department of Transportation is set to begin a project that will include traffic restrictions on M-77 in Schoolcraft County.  The repairs near Germfask are scheduled to begin Monday, August 6, and be completed by August 30.

The repairs are necessary to address a small area of settling roadway, just south of          Pine Street in Germfask. Work will include excavation to pinpoint the cause of the settling, correct the cause, and repair the roadway.

The restrictions that will be put in place include reduced lane widths on M-77 in that area as patching of the road continues. When more extensive repairs begin, MDOT says it will require lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals, and perhaps a detour.
