Suspect in Escanaba Shooting may face additional Charges
Additional charges may be filed against a man already charged with a Delta County shooting over the weekend.
Escanaba Public Safety says 26-year-old Andrew Maynard has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm. He’s in custody at the Delta County Correctional Facility on a $2,500 cash bond.
Authorities will be seeking additional charges against Maynard upon completion of the investigation which included analysis of evidence by the Michigan State Police Forensic Laboratory collected at the scene on the night of the incident. The nature of the charges will not be released until reviewed and authorized by the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office.
The 20-year-old male victim is listed in stable condition at Marquette General Hospital where he is being monitored and treated for a single gunshot wound to the face.
The incident occurred around 10:30 Sunday night at an apartment on the north side of Escanaba.
