Barge for Fireworks Ready for Launch
Tomorrow marks the birthday of the Untied States and like many communities Marquette will be celebrating with fireworks.
One of the key parts of the display is the floating barge, which from which the fireworks are launched.
Today, the Army Corps of Engineers from the 652nd spent the morning putting the barge into the water at the upper harbor and began the trek along the shore to the lower harbor break wall.
The barge is the perfect platform to light the annual 4th of July fireworks show from.
Fireworks are scheduled to bet set off tomorrow night, just after dusk at the Elwood Mattson Lower Harbor Park.
