County Board Addresses the Safety of MQT County
The Marquette County Board of Commissioners held a regular meeting tonight.
A long discussion was held among commissioners about the need for the approval of a contract between the DHS and the Prosecutor’s Office.
A cost of $11,000.
Many commissioners voiced their concerns about the public’s safety in Marquette County in relation to the increase of felony charges in cases going to court, drug activity, and crime.
Any type of violation of the law, including traffic code, and criminal violations start at the Prosecutor’s Office. The Prosecutor said he has had 5 jury trials in Circuit Court in the last 8 weeks.
After a roll call vote, the county board approved the contract between the DHS and Prosecutor’s Office.
