Severe Weather Update

Hail larger than golf balls came with severe thunderstorms that blew through the Central U.P. tonight. All tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings for Marquette County have been lifted at this hour.

However, there is a severe thunderstorm warning for Schoolcraft County until 11:29 tonight.

The hail was accompanied with destructive winds that reached nearly 70 MPH. The National Weather Service said this storm produced some weak rotation, however no tornados developed. The storm was first located 13 miles northwest of Marquette and is moving southeast at 25 MPH.
