Seney Wildfire Update
Mop–up operations are continuing at the Seney National Wildlife Refuge on the wildfire there.
That one has burned about 3,200 acres of forest.
And, like the Duck Lake fire, the Seney fire is also being blamed on a lightning strike.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says the spread of the flames has been minimal to non–existent over the last several days.
It’s now 75 percent contained.
However, it is still burning and could still be burning for another few days.
On Friday, Governor Rick Snyder declared a state of disaster in both Luce and Schoolcraft Counties.
