Red-Flag Fire Danger
Fire danger warnings continue across the U.P. with a red flag warning.
Several small grass fires have been reported across the region, with causes ranging from careless burning to downed power lines.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says very high fire danger is forecasted for the entire up.
Spotter planes are in the air, checking for evidence of fires.
Burn permits are not being issued.
Steady winds, continued dry weather and low humidity have made for dangerous conditions.
The National Weather Service issued the red flag warning for a large portion of the U.P.
Red-flagging is the highest warning level that the Weather Service issues in regards to fire danger.
