Bomb Threat at Munising High School
At 10:45 a.m.this morning, the Munising City Police Department received a call from the Munising High School reporting a possible Bomb Threat. The reported threat was found written on a wall in one of the bathrooms and was reported to authorities.
Officers from the Munising City Police Department, Alger County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, and Munising City Fire Department immediately responded. School Officials placed the School into “Shelter Secure Mode” and the School was searched by Law Enforcement, Fire Department Officers, and School Staff. Nothing suspicious was found in the building and at 12:55 p.m. the School resumed normal operation.
A 14 year old female has been identified and a confession to writing the threat has been obtained. A report is being forwarded to the Alger County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
False report or threat of a Bomb or Harmful Device is a Felony which carries a maximum penalty of 4 years and/or $2,000.00.
