April 16th Court Date in Home Invasion Case
Four men arrested in an Alger County home invasion case will be back in court in two weeks.
Together, they face 34 felony counts in connection with an armed home invasion in Munising Township on February 28th.
The suspects are 32-year-old Issac Cotto of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, 28-year-old Israel Velez and 24-year-old George Carmona, both of Chicago, and 35-year-old Ruben Rodriguez of Elmwood Park, Illinois.
The four men are being held on $250,000 bond each.
Police say the arrests stem from a hostage situation at a home on East Powell Lake Road in Munising Township.
It was reported by a utility company employee who happened to be making a service call at the home.
The men are each charged with serious crimes, including first-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and armed robbery.
Carmona is also charged with wearing body armor during the commission of a violent crime, and Rodriguez is facing an additional charge of discharging of a firearm in or at a building.
All four are scheduled for pre–trial hearings on April 16th.
