Starbucks Grant for Northern Initiatives
Many u–p residents know that Northern Michigan University grad Howard Schultz is the CEO of Starbucks.
And now the world’s largest coffeehouse chain is sending financial help to a nonprofit group based out of NMU’s campus.
The Starbucks Foundation is giving $4 million to nonprofit groups around the country.
Northern Initiatives in Marquette is one of the groups it will help.
But you will determine how much money the group will receive.
All 124 groups will receive at least $10,000 and possibly as much as $35,000.
To vote for Northern Initiatives, you can go here.
Northern Initiatives provides loans and business development information to the U.P., the Wisconsin counties that border the U.P. and the northern half of the Lower Peninsula.
