US-41/M-28 Project Public Meeting
The Michigan Department of Transportation is having a public meeting to discuss upcoming construction on US-41/M-28 between Marquette and Harvey.
It’s taking place at 5:30 pm next Tuesday, March 27th, in the Citizens Forum room at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
MDOT is inviting all interested residents and business owners to attend.
MDOT will be reconstructing US-41/M-28 from the Carp River in Marquette to Bayou Street in Harvey, and resurfacing the highway from Bayou Street to the US-41/M-28 intersection in Harvey.
This project also will include construction of a multi-use pathway along Lake Superior.
While this project will require lane closures with traffic shifts, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
Temporary turn lanes will be maintained at driveways and roadway approaches, and a temporary traffic signal will be installed at the Marquette Branch Prison entrance.
Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
Construction is scheduled to begin in April and be completed in October.
