Collegiate Job Fair

Improvement in the job market may be painfully slow, but there are some signs that it’s improving locally, especially for younger people.

Demand for college students and recent grads seems to be rising at the annual Upper Great Lakes Collegiate Job Fair in Marquette.

NMU Career Services Director Jim Gadzinski says about 60 employers from across the Midwest attended this afternoon, the largest employer turnout since 2008.

The event encourages students to approach as many potential employers as possible, and those students came from across the U.P. for the job and internship opportunities.

Gadzinski says they have plenty more avenues possible through Career Services besides just those at the job fair, especially internships.

He’s asking students to make full use of them.
