Marquette County Probate Judge Retiring
The longest-serving probate judge that Marquette County has ever had is retiring.
Judge Michael Anderegg has sat on the bench for 35 years.
His current six–year term expires at the end of the year, and he said in a statement today that he won’t run for re-election.
Governor Rick Snyder signed a bill into law last week that will eventually cut the number of judges in Marquette County from five to four.
But Judge Anderegg says his seat won’t be lost — the loss will come from Circuit Court, when either Judge Thomas Solka or Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi is unable to run again.
Judge Anderegg says he expects to remain involved with the juvenile court system in his retirement.
