Accidents in Ontonagon Co.
Slippery roads may have contributed to a one vehicle accident Saturday in Ontonagon County. The sheriff’s department reports that at 11:13am, Andrea Sunnerberg of Rhinelander, WI was traveling north on M38 500 ft North on M26 when she hit a slippery spot in the road. She lost control of her vehicle then spun out into the snowbank. The vehicle hit a metal post – causing moderate damage to her vehicle. The vehicle was removed by Big Valley Ford of Ewen.
The same towing service was used just two hours later, around 1:10 pm, for a car-deer accident. The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department says Matthew Settergun of Maple Grove, MN was traveling south on US45 100ft North of the Baltimore River when a deer ran out into the roadway. He was unable to avoid hitting a deer. The collision caused moderate damage to his vehicle.
