Marquette City Band Gets New Director

Dr. Stephen Grugin, the Director of Bands and Professor of

Low Brass at Northern Michigan University, has been named Director of the Marquette City Band.

Grugin has conducted the City Band on many occasions. He holds degrees in music from Ohio State University, Northwestern University, and Florida State University.

The Marquette City Band is comprised of local instrumentalists of all

ages from the community and performs several times each summer, mostly at the band shell at Presque Isle Park.
